How many times have you told yourself that you will cut down on your food, adopt a stringent exercise routine, and shed all those extra pounds you’re carrying? We’re guessing, a lot! It is understandable to start despising your body as you hop through the television channels, and see the skinniest of actresses and models on there. There is no denying that we’ve all been there. However, contrary to your conscious belief, there might be a lot of things that you’re doing wrong in your efforts to lose weight. Here is a list of the few things that you can do to take up on the challenge of weight loss:
Accepting your body shape:
Everyone has a specific body type. While some people might be skinny even though they devour food like a glut, others might not be able to get rid of their voluptuous bodies even though they starve themselves. Being of a certain weight is not necessary; instead, being healthy should be your target.
Keep track of everything you eat:Yes! Note down everything you consume, including the glasses of water, or a microscopic crumb of bread. This will not only help you calculate the amount of calories you take in per day, but will also significantly decrease the amount of food you eat.
Exercise Wisely:Simply because you’ve embarked on a journey to your ideal weight, does not mean that you have to work out for two hours every day. Know your pace, and don’t fatigue yourself to the extent that you feel like giving up altogether.
Cheating is okay:There might be days when you want to take a break from your diet plan, and eat something you really WANT to. Do so! However, don’t let your mind think, even for a fraction of a second, that you’ve strayed from your plan and that you might as well stop. Look at it as a break, and resume your diet schedule the next day.
Make permanent changes:Don’t crash diet. You won’t lose weight the healthy way, and will simply end up straining your body and your internal organs. Make a change in your way of life. Make sure that you develop a habit of exercising regularly, and eating healthily. Only making a complete overhaul in your life style can make you hale and hearty.
Watch your water intake:As cliché as this may sound, drink plenty of water. Every time you feel hungry, walk up to your kitchen, and sip through two glasses of water. This will keep all your internal systems balanced and optimally functioning. It will also trick your brain into thinking that your stomach is full; hence, you will eat less.
Stash Fruits and Vegetables:
Make sure you spend a huge proportion of your monthly budget on purchasing fruits and vegetables. Look up for healthy recipes online, and prepare your own meals. Avoid take-out food as much as you can. You will soon learn to love eating the healthier alternatives, and will have done a huge favor on your body.
